Welcome to Metal Translator! Hey... Ever wondered what the fuck your favourite metal band is singing about? You've come to the right place. THE database for metal translations on the internet. Join up and know what the hell you're listening to. How it works, you ask? Well, as you may have noticed, this site has a forum. This forum has a section called "Submit a translation". Anyone can make a submission there, and if two other native speakers or well-studied people in that particular language confirm the translation's correctness, it will be added to the site. (Note: In order for that to work effeciently, you should obviously include the non-English original in the thread.) There's of course one simple rule you all have to follow, though it's kind of a no-brainer. Only take credit for your own translations, if you got the translation you post from somewhere else, give credit to the person who originally did it, not yourself. Should we ever find out that you are trying to sell somebody else's translation as your own, obviously your ass will be banned for life. So, don't be a fucking dickhead. Join and contribute! If you have both a good grasp of English and some other language, damn, join us and help us to expand our database, hopefully to the point of including absolutely EVERYTHING. If you are ever unsure about anything, check out our Links-section, it has a good collection of good online-dictionaries. Also, if you notice a mistake in any of our site's translations, feel free to bring them up in the "Report a mistake"-section of our forum. The more of you contribute, the better the site will be. |

| April 9, 2009 - IMPORTANT: Temporary Rule Change! Righty-right, my little droogies. I have come to a realization the last few days. Actually it's an obvious one, but I guess I'm a slow person. ;) The site is going far too slow for its own good. The reason for this is obvious: My approval rules are far too fussy. Sure, it's understandable - for myself, at least - that I don't want mistake-ridden garbage on the site, but what good is that perfectionism if the site never even moves beyond a handful of translations? The rules I made defeat the purpose of this site by being too strict for the userbase we have right now, so for the time being, I will have to dramatically ease up, or else this whole damn thing will never work. So, as of now, we no longer require other native speakers to judge/give their thumbs up on a translation. All I want from now on is that the translation is checked for proper English. You know, spelling, a bit of syntax (unless it's just as fucked-up in the original), if the thing makes sense, etc. This has two major advantages: 1) Obviously, it will speed up the approval process. 2) You no longer need to know a language to help with the approval, all you need is a grasp of English. Czechs can judge Spanish translations, Finns can judge German translations, etc. This rule-change will be in effect until we have build up a good and diverse enough community for the real rules to properly work rather than holding back the site! I hope this makes it a little easier for all of you. I'll also add two or three more moderators, so the approval process isn't all on my shoulders, just so you know.
